Job Perspectives in Mexico, 2008-2030

Over half of the economically active population in Mexico held an informal job that did not provide social welfare benefits, in 2008. This article analyzes unemployment in Mexico, estimates its future and offers suggestions on how it can be reduced, beyond offering recommendations for economic growth. The author specifically focuses on its typology and characteristics.


Global Damiana Trade and its Small Producers in Baja California Sur

The establishment of commercial plantations to grow certain species that are native to the northwestern part of Mexico could represent an alternative for local economic growth. This article focuses on the damiana (also known as Mexican tea) grown in the Southern Baja, to help raise awareness on export possibilities for small productive rural regions that can market their productions with greater added value and reduce intermediation costs.
